The routes for the 2027 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift were unveiled in Paris at lunchtime on Thursday. What do they have in common? A start in England, routes that promise plenty of excitement and numerous opportunities for the Cofidis team to shine. Speaking from the Palais des Congrès in Paris, general manager Raphaël Jeune gives his immediate reaction.
Men Tour de France
"My first thought when looking at the route was that we have some real opportunities to win. Of course, we know that the high-mountain stages will be the preserve of the riders competing for the overall victory, and that we will also have to contend with two time trials. But outside those stages, there will be plenty of opportunities. Last year, we showed with Milan Fretin that we have what it takes to compete for victories. With the lead-out train around him, Milan came close to winning on two occasions (fourth in Nevers and fifth in Chalon-sur-Saône) and secured several other top-ten finishes (eighth in Pau and ninth in Paris). We will do everything we can to line up at the Tour de France with the strongest team possible and live up to our ambitions.”
Women Tour de France avec Zwift
“It’s a very interesting route, with another Grand Départ abroad, which once again underlines the appeal of women’s cycling. I know we will have some great opportunities to make our mark. Ema Comte’s performances throughout the season, for example, give us good reason to be optimistic and believe we can compete at the highest level. Once again, we will line up with a strong team that will do everything it can to make its mark and target a stage victory.”
