The Belgian rider claimed victory after a superb ride. Having gone clear in the breakaway with Bryan Coquard, he was able to benefit from an incredible turn of pace from the « Coq » before finishing the job with composure. A fine victory, his first in Cofidis colours and already the team’s 15th of the season.

He crossed the finish line a little later and celebrated too. Bryan Coquard rose from his saddle and celebrated the victory – Jenthe Biermans’ victory. The Cofidis team once again produced a superb performance on the roads of the Cholet Agglo Tour. Everything came to life around 20 kilometres from the finish, when a small group of around ten riders broke clear, including Bryan and Jenthe. The gap held despite the peloton’s attempts to close it down. The finale was thrilling: only four riders remained out front and the Cofidis duo gave it everything. In the closing stages, Bryan dropped back to support Jenthe, who only had to produce one final effort to claim victory.

The 8th Cofidis rider to win this season!

A fine victory, then, for the Cofidis team, which continues its run of success in the 2027 season. This was the team’s 15th victory of the season. Jenthe Biermans, who claimed his first win in the team’s colours, becomes the 8th Cofidis rider to triumph this season. He joins Bryan Coquard, Milan Fretin, Ion Izagirre, Alex Aranburu, Stanislaw Aniolkowski, Alex Kirsch and Hugo Page.

There are the victories, but also the way they are achieved: what the spectators in Cholet witnessed at the end of the race was the perfect understanding and collective spirit of a group of riders who are clearly enjoying themselves on the bike. And there are still a few more opportunities to shine before the end of the season!

The reaction

Jenthe Biermans:

« Our main objective was simply to be very active and perform well in the finale. I was feeling really good. I saw that Bryan attacked, he was followed, there was a bit of hesitation and I made the jump. It was easier to have two riders up there in the finale. With three kilometres to go, Bryan said he was going to sacrifice himself for me, to thank me for what I had done for him since the start of the season. The plan worked perfectly. A huge thank you to the whole team and especially to Bryan: seeing such a champion sacrifice himself like that is truly exceptional. »
