The second stage of the Tour of Slovakia ended in a bunch sprint. Jenthe Biermans finished fourth on a challenging day, but one in which the team achieved its objective. From tomorrow, the focus shifts to the general classification.
The second stage of the Tour of Slovakia proved challenging, with much colder and rainier weather than the previous day. The team focused on maintaining a strong position around Jamie Meehan and Jenthe Biermans. Once again, it all came down to a sprint finish. After suffering a minor mechanical problem, Jenthe was unable to put in the effort he’d hoped for and finished fourth. Things are set to get tougher tomorrow, with a final mountain pass 20 km from the finish, which could see the first gaps open up in the general classification.

"It was a tough day, but we managed to finish the race, and that was the first important thing. We’d planned the race, but Jenthe had a minor mechanical problem in the final stages, so he finished 4th. We’re a bit disappointed, but it’s still a good result. Tomorrow marks the start of the general classification, so we already have a plan and we’ll try to stick to it.
You know, when you’re aiming for the general classification, you always have to be at the front and in control of the race. So this position is perfect for that. We’re aiming for the general classification, which is why we’re riding like this."
