It is always a pleasure for Team Cofidis to race in the North, on the home roads of the Cofidis Group. This Saturday, the women’s team competed in À Travers les Hauts-de-France, between Quéant and Écourt-Saint-Quentin. Unfortunately, the day was marked by Amalie Dideriksen’s crash with around 20 kilometres to go, as the Dane was set to play her card in the final sprint.
Two riders went clear early in the race before being caught with around 50 kilometres remaining. The peloton then entered the final circuit together, where attacks and accelerations came thick and fast.
With around 20 kilometres to go, Amalie Dideriksen, the team’s designated sprinter, unfortunately crashed. She tried to continue but was eventually forced to abandon the race. The concussion protocol was reassuring and the team hopes to see her back on the start line at the Choralis Fourmies tomorrow.
In the finale, several attacks tried to prevent a bunch sprint, but the peloton eventually came back together. Kristyna Burlova finished 31st.

Gaëtan Lemoine, Sports Director:
“Amalie was our sprinter today. Unfortunately, she crashed with around 20 kilometres to go. She tried to continue but was eventually forced to abandon the race. The concussion protocol was reassuring and, if everything is fine, she should be able to start tomorrow. After her crash, we weren’t able to reorganise quickly enough to put another plan in place for the sprint. Kristyna then had to take on the sprint, but she wasn’t in the best conditions to contest it.”
