Stage 3 of the Tour du Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine took place this Thursday with a 27.7 km individual time trial between Cherves and Vouillé. Ion Izagirre finished 10th and moved up to 9th overall.
After two road stages, including Milan Fretin’s victory on the opening stage and his second place yesterday, the riders faced a different challenge this Thursday. On the programme was a 27.7 km individual time trial, an important test for the general classification.
Ion Izagirre delivered a strong performance to take 10th place on the stage. The Basque rider now sits 9th overall.
The team's young riders also performed well. Camille Charret finished inside the Top 15, while our trainee Joseph Brookes took 21st place.
Meanwhile, Milan Fretin retains the lead in the points classification ahead of the final stage.

Evaldas Šiškevičius:
“Today we had a 27 km time trial. Our goal was to have a rider in the Top 10. Ion Izagirre did exactly what we asked of him and finished 10th. We’re also very pleased with Camille Charret’s time trial, finishing inside the Top 15, and with our trainee Joseph Brookes, who took 21st place. These were good time trials from our young riders. Tomorrow, we’re back to a road stage that should be a bit tougher. We’ll try to fight for the win.”
