The Giro Toscana got underway this Thursday with a 2.03 km individual prologue through the streets of Chiesina Uzzanese. On this short and technical course, Martina Alzini finished 14th and Marion Borras took 17th place.
Just over two kilometres and nine corners were on the programme to kick off this edition of the Giro Toscana. A short and intense effort where every second counted.
Martina Alzini finished 14th in the prologue, while Marion Borras took 17th place.
After this opening effort, three road stages remain. From tomorrow, the team will look to make the most of the bonus seconds and the different opportunities to fight at the front.
Reaction:
Gaëtan Lemoine, Sports Director:
“Today we had a 2 km prologue with nine corners. The girls gave it their all, but we came up against stronger riders, particularly specialists on this type of urban circuit.
We are where we expected to be and everything is still open. Tomorrow, there will be opportunities with the bonus seconds and we’ll give it our all. We still have three days to fight for a stage win and perhaps even the general classification on Sunday. It’s only the beginning.”
