The sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes featured another hilly route between Montbrison and Tournon-sur-Rhône, covering 153.4 kilometers. It was a day ripe for race action, with attacks once again setting the pace.

True to her attacking style since the start of this Grand Tour, Nikola Nosková once again stepped up to the plate. The Czech rider joined a three-rider breakaway that quickly opened up a gap on the peloton. The leading group built a lead of up to 2'20, underscoring Team Cofidis’ determination to seize every opportunity.
Despite their strong resistance, the breakaway’s run finally came to an end about 60 kilometers from the finish. The peloton then regrouped and reignited the race, setting the stage for a new battle between the favorites and the contenders for the stage win.

After several days in which she has distinguished herself in breakaways and in the pursuit of the mountains classification, Nikola Nosková continues to embody the Cofidis team’s attacking spirit in this Tour de France Femmes.

Now it’s time for a highly anticipated stage with the summit finish at Mont Ventoux—a major new challenge for the riders and another opportunity for the team to continue making its presence felt at the front.

The reaction

Mélanie Briot: “The goal this morning was really to break away. Nikola Noskova rode well. Fenix-Premier Tech and EF Education-Oatly decided otherwise regarding the fate of her breakaway. Behind them, another race began.”
