The fourth stage of the Tour de France Femmes featured a 21-kilometer individual time trial between Gevrey-Chambertin and Dijon. This unique format allowed the time trial specialists to shine, while the other riders focused primarily on minimizing time gaps ahead of the rest of the race.

For Cofidis, the goal was clear: to manage this stage as effectively as possible and conserve energy after three particularly grueling days.
Following the time trial, Simon Girard, coach of the Cofidis team, highlighted above all the team’s effective management of the day.

The team can now look ahead to the upcoming stages, where the terrain should once again favor offensive riding. After tackling the time trial with intelligence, the Cofidis riders will return to a race profile more conducive to their ambitions for this second half of the Tour.

The reaction

Simon Girard, coach : “The goal was really to get everyone within the time limit and then manage the time trial—and, more generally, the day—as best as possible, so everyone could recharge their batteries. After the first three stages, which were made very tough by the heat, we want to head into the next few days—which are going to be complicated—feeling a little fresher. We’re ready to tackle the final weekend of the Tour de France.”
