The 15th stage of the Tour de France, from Champagnole to the Plateau de Solaison, marked the final stage of the race’s second week. True to form, our Cofidis riders were once again on the attack.
No regrets. Once again, our Cofidis riders were on the attack on the roads of the Tour de France. Between Champagnole and the Plateau de Solaison on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Ion Izagirre was part of one of the day’s early breakaways. Although his group was never able to build a lead of more than a few dozen seconds, this latest attempt by our team leader illustrates the Cofidis spirit throughout this week and the entire Tour: to attack on every terrain. Now it’s time for a well-deserved second rest day for the riders before tackling the third week.

Benjamin Thomas : "Personally, I struggled more on yesterday’s stage than I did today. It started off fast, but the groupetto formed quickly; we managed to catch up to the peloton, and then we stayed in the groupetto until the end. For us, it was just another day to get through, but it wasn’t the hardest one. Then again, for those fighting for the overall or the stage win, it’s a different story. We’re okay—we’ve got two slightly easier days ahead of us tomorrow and Tuesday.
On Friday, I led the stage and used up a lot of energy. Yesterday, I was this close to going home because I hit the wall after ten kilometers. I struggled to catch up with the groupetto and finish. But today, things went better. The human body is strange sometimes.
If I recover well, next week there’ll still be a chance, I think, on one of the stages. Wednesday, for example. Because after that, if you look at the profile, it’s over. Otherwise, the Champs, but we’ll see about that… We’re not there yet."
