Having joined the team two years ago, Valentin quickly established himself as a key player. Winner of the GP de la Marseillaise in 2025, he gives his all for the team and seizes his chance when the opportunity arises. He is keen to continue his mission during the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
He is one of those riders who are essential to the smooth running of a team. Valentin Ferron tackles race day after race with the same enthusiasm and determination. This season, he has already completed 22 race days, covering over 4,000 kilometres. An exemplary team-mate, Valentin knows how to seize opportunities, break away from the pack and do everything he can to shake up the race. At 28, he is hungry for victory, both for the team and for himself. He has notably distinguished himself this season with a 5th place at Paris-Camembert and a 7th place at the GP du Morbihan. Last year, Valentin raised his arms in victory on just his third day of racing at the GP de la Marseillaise.
This year, he is therefore contributing to the team’s success across the board. “I’m very proud to be part of the Cofidis project and the great momentum we’ve seen since the start of the season,” he says. And the Vienne native adds: “I love it when we have a close-knit team that’s moving forward.” That’s just as well: that’s exactly what he and the whole team are demonstrating in every race!
Quotes
Valentin Ferron:
“I was naturally delighted when I was told I had the opportunity to extend my contract with the team. It’s a real opportunity to be able to sign so early in the season, and it shows the confidence they have in me. I’m very honoured and proud, above all, to continue this journey and to be part of the Cofidis project, building on the great momentum we’ve seen since the start of the season. I love it when we have a close-knit group that’s moving forward. I feel very much at home in the team. You can sense that everything that’s been put in place is paying off. We’re lucky to have a staff that’s constantly on the ball, including my coach, Mathieu Desfontaine, who’s doing an incredible job of helping me perform better.”
Raphaël Jeune, manager général :
“It’s a pleasure to continue the adventure with Valentin Ferron for another two seasons. I’m delighted with this contract extension and the trust he has placed in us. He has already proven that he has settled perfectly into the Cofidis project. Last year, Valentin demonstrated all his qualities, notably by winning a race despite problems with his iliac artery. He is a rider full of promise, both as a team player and when it comes to seizing his chance in gruelling races. We are obviously counting on him for the upcoming events so that we can continue to be ambitious and aim for the top step of the podium on numerous occasions.”
