The para-cycling team had an incredible weekend at the French Para-Cycling Championships. Katell Alençon, Louis Hubert and Arthur Bauchet swept the podium in both the road race and the time trial. Elliot Pierre, meanwhile, took to the podium twice, and the team clinched the silver medal in the team time trial. A look back at three golden days of competition.

THE WINNERS

- Katell Alençon: champion in the road race and time trial
- Louis Hubert: champion in the road race and time trial, runner-up in the team time trial
- Arthur Bauchet: French champion in the road race and time trial, runner-up in the team time trial
- Eliott Pierre: French runner-up in the road race and time trial
- Naël Habasque: runner-up in the team time trial, 5th in the individual time trial

It’s becoming a tradition we’ll never tire of. At every competition they enter, the Cofidis team comes away with an impressive haul of medals. Following their numerous successes in the three World Cup rounds, the whole team headed to the Gard for the French Championships. They kicked things off on Friday with the team time trial, and the Cofidis squad secured its first podium finish as Arthur Bauchet, Louis Hubert and Naël Habasque took the silver medal.

Regulars on the podium

The following day, it was time for the road races. The Cofidis riders were in sparkling form, winning three French champion’s jerseys with Katell Alençon, Louis Hubert and Arthur Bauchet. As a reminder, this is Arthur Bauchet’s first French championship title, confirming his progress in para-cycling, having already won multiple titles in skiing.

On Sunday, all the riders were back in action for the time trial. And there too, they shone: Katell, Louis and Arthur secured an incredible one-two finish. Meanwhile, Eliott Pierre took to the podium once again. The season continues in Italy in a fortnight’s time with the European Championships. After that, the riders will have the whole summer to prepare for the World Championships, which will take place from 4 to 7 September in Alabama (United States). And they fully intend to shine there!

Results all weekend long!

All the Cofidis teams were in action at the end of last week. At the Bretagne Ladies Tour, the women were particularly in fine form. Amalie Dideriksen and Valentine Fortin finished second (in the first and final stages respectively). Two riders finished in the top five in the time trial (Emma Comte and Marion Borras, third and fourth). Finally, in the general classification, two riders made it into the top 10: Marion Borras (4th) and Amalie Dideriksen (9th). As for the men’s team, Clément Izquierdo, once again showing great consistency, took 5th place in the general classification of the Boucles de la Mayenne.
