The Boucles de la Mayenne came to a close in Laval on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Eodardo Zamperini spent the day in a breakaway. Clément Izquierdo finished 5th overall.
It was a good week for the Cofidis team. At the Boucles de la Mayenne, the northerners distinguished themselves by securing a 5th-place finish in the general classification with Clément Izquierdo. During this final stage, it was Edoardo Zamperini who stood out. Our Italian rider was part of the day’s breakaway and was only caught a few kilometers from the finish.
The reaction
Evaldas Siskevicius, sports director:
"We can be satisfied because today we once again saw the Cofidis team perform well. Edoardo Zamperini made the breakaway that kept us believing in a stage win right up to the final lap. Unfortunately, he was caught, but he showed tremendous grit. Clément Izquierdo finished 5th overall. That was the common thread this week. I was satisfied yesterday; here we lost a spot, but it was to Mads Pedersen. We have nothing to be ashamed of. I’m very happy with the whole team and with our week. This keeps our momentum going."
