This Thursday evening, the 51st edition of the Boucles de la Mayenne got underway with the traditional prologue through the streets of Laval. A short and explosive 5.4-kilometre effort around the Espace Mayenne, perfectly suited to riders and puncheurs alike.

The team came through this first test without any issues. Clément Izquierdo, the team's last starter at 8:11 PM, finished 15th at 13 seconds off the winner, an encouraging result ahead of the three remaining stages. Alexis Renard crossed the line 23rd at 17 seconds. Tomorrow, the race continues with the first road stage between Saint-Berthevin and Juvigné.

Reaction from sports director Evaldas Šiškevičius:

"We got through the prologue without any issues. I'm pleased with Clément Izquierdo's performance, finishing 15th at 13 seconds off the winner. It puts us in a good position in the general classification. Alexis Renard also put in a solid performance and will be competitive in the sprints, and Edoardo Zamperini isn't too far off either. Everything is looking good ahead of the three stages to come."
