The date was marked on the calendar. On his home turf in Brittany, Alexis Renard wanted to shine at the Tro Bro Leon on Sunday, May 10, 2026. He and the Cofidis team did not disappoint.

There are certain races that have a special atmosphere. The Tro Bro Leon is one of them. On the dirt roads of Brittany, the Cofidis team and Alexis Renard were determined to shine. They did just that, with a fine second-place finish for the rider racing on home turf. He capped off a race that our men from the North had dominated all day in fine style. The wooden pig, awarded this year, is heading back to Cofidis.

The reaction

Sébastien Hinault, sports director:
"A great second-place finish for Alexis Renard, who was solid in the final stretch to secure this result. We should also highlight the strong performance of the entire team, because it’s true that we were aggressive all day long—first with Valentin Ferron and then with Jenthe Biermans—so that went pretty well.
We wanted to set up a scenario where we’d be one step ahead of the rest of the race, and whether it was Valentin or Jenthe, it was executed pretty well even if it didn’t pay off. But in the final stretch, we were still strong.  There were four of us from our team 20 km from the finish, and in the final stretch Alexis was strong; Clément Izquierdo did a good job too for him, and we went for that second place. Team Visma Lease A Bike had the numbers on us, which is why we didn’t make it to the sprint; otherwise, I think if we’d really been in contention for the win, Alexis could have won, but oh well… Second place, first Breton—it’s true that he’s the top Breton and takes home the pig, even if he’s not in top form this year. But still, a great race overall for the team and a great finish for Alexis. "
