On the rolling roads of the Doubs, 175.5 kilometres and nearly 2,700 metres of elevation gain produced a selective race, with a demanding finale to the top of Montfaucon.

From kilometre 13, the Col de la Côte Chazot (2.1 km at 6.7%) set the tone. The race hardened as the kilometres went by, up to the Côte de la Malate at Montfaucon (3.3 km at 9.1%), the real moment of truth of the race.

Present in the breakaway in the final kilometres, Jamie Meehan read the race perfectly in the last climb. He crossed the line in 5th position at the top of Montfaucon, 22 seconds behind the winner. Louis Rouland also delivered a solid ride, finishing 12th.

Jean-Luc Jonrond, Sports Director :

« A six-rider breakaway went clear around kilometre 10, with the peloton controlling behind. Our goal was to stay together and be as well-placed as possible. Sergio Samitier did a great job to set up our climbers at the bottom of Montfaucon. Jamie Meehan got on the right wheels straight away, he cracked 500 metres from the line and grabbed us a great 5th place, 22 seconds behind the winner. Louis Rouland came away with 12th place. Good return to racing for Sergio, who did a solid job today. »
