The Cofidis team’s strong run continues in the Northern Classics. At the Bredene-Koksijde Classic, the team placed two riders in the Top 10.

The string of Northern Classics has been positive for the Cofidis team. Following Jenthe Biermans’ Top 10 finishes at the Danilith Nokere Koerse on Wednesday, March 18, and the GP de Denain on Thursday, March 19, this Friday, March 20, 2026, our Cofidis team placed two riders in the Top 10 at the Bredene Koksijde Classic. At the end of a race where the northern riders followed the race plan to the letter, Stanislaw Aniolkowski and Alexis Renard finished 6th and 8th in the sprint in Koksijde. The podium was within reach.

The reaction

Sébastien Demarbaix, sports director: “The goal was to put together the best possible sprint with Stanislaw Aniolkowski and, if possible, get a second rider in the mix. The race plan was pretty clear. There were 70 km to go before the tough section, particularly the climb up Mont Kemmel. In that tough section, Alexis Renard’s job was to follow the moves so we wouldn’t end up in a bad spot. He did a perfect job of it because he found himself in a group of 11 riders with all the big teams. There wasn’t a big gap, but Alexis was exactly where he needed to be. Later, a group of six riders broke away with some strong teams, but the peloton managed the situation well from behind. The breakaway was caught near the finish, and we were able to start the sprint with Stanislaw in a great position. We had hopes for a podium finish. Alexis still had the legs to aim for a top-10 finish. Hugo Page was supposed to do the lead-out, but it was a bit complicated. What’s also very positive is the work of the three teammates: Camille Charret, Jann Maas, and Nicolas Debeaumarché, who did a great job all day. We’re disappointed not to be on the podium, but once again we have a great team and, despite everything, two guys in the top 10.”
