Stage 1 of Paris-Nice, 170.9 km from Achères to Carrières-sous-Poissy, ended in a bunch sprint after a nervous and fast-paced day of racing.
Active in the chase, the team helped control the breakaway of the day, which was caught one and a half kilometres from the finish, setting up a bunch sprint finale.
Despite a crash during the stage, Milan Fretin delivered in the final sprint to secure a strong fourth place. A solid way to kick off the Race to the Sun.
Reaction : Bingen Fernández, Sports Director
“The first stage of Paris-Nice is always special and stressful, with a lot of nervousness in the peloton. The start was very fast and a strong group of six riders quickly went clear. We rode for a large part of the day to control the gap and prepare a sprint for Milan Fretin. The breakaway was caught one and a half kilometres from the finish. Milan finished fourth. It was a good collective performance from the team, who did everything to put him in the best possible position.”
