Throughout the week, the Cofidis riders have been impressive. Milan Fretin's victory in the Ruta del Sol last Friday set the tone. Alex Aranburu in Andalusia and Simon Carr in the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes also put in strong performances. And in their wake, the team continues to ride a wave of momentum!

Some gestures speak louder than words. After his hard-fought sprint victory on Friday, Milan Fretin was quickly greeted by all his teammates. Then the staff members surrounded him, congratulating him and thanking him. Behind the smiles and enthusiasm lies the idea of a team that shines and is always committed to excelling and performing together.

A flying start to the season

The first races of the season had already demonstrated this. Bryan Coquard won the GP de La Marseillaise after intense work by the Cofidis train. A few days later, Alex Kirsch and Hugo Page had put Milan Fretin in a position to win, but he narrowly missed out on victory in the AlUla Tour. At the Étoile de Bessèges and the Tour of Oman, Clément Izquierdo and Bryan Coquard narrowly missed out on victory, as did Alex Aranburu, who finished second in the Figueira Champions Classic.

A week of very high level racing

This week, after a few days of respite, the Andalusian sun provided another opportunity to shine. And Alex Aranburu continued to set a blistering pace. In five stages, the former Spanish champion finished in the top five three times! He ended up sixth in the overall classification and first in the points classification. In Lopera on Friday, he had a front-row seat to witness Milan Fretin's incredible feat, showing incredible self-sacrifice in holding off Paul Penhoet and Christophe Laporte before winning with skill.

This weekend also saw Simon Carr's return to action. Injured last year, the Briton is back to his best. In the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes on Sunday, he finished third in a particularly competitive race.

Like Simon and his teammates, the Cofidis team approaches each race with the firm intention of being among the frontrunners. The motto is clear: don't hold back and aim for victory whenever the opportunity arises. This determined and combative spirit is ideal as they prepare for the next stage. Next weekend, one team will be heading to Greece to try their luck, while another will be kicking off the long-awaited Belgian race season. These are opportunities to give it their all, continue to perform at their best and fly the Cofidis colours high!
