Tour de France 2026: The Cofidis Teams Ready to “Aim for the Summits”

The routes of the men’s and women’s Tour de France were unveiled this Thursday. For Team Cofidis, there will be no shortage of opportunities to shine. The men’s Grande Boucle, starting in Barcelona, will offer chances for both the team’s sprinters and breakaway specialists to stand out. On the women’s side, several promising opportunities will also arise. Here’s an overview and insight from the team’s general manager, Raphaël Jeune.

RAPHAËL JEUNE’S INSIGHT

THE ROUTE
“The route of the 2026 Tour de France is particularly exciting. There are seven flat stages, which will be especially interesting for our sprinters and the highly efficient lead-out train we’ll build around them. We also have four breakaway stages, which suit the strengths of some of our riders. In total, that gives us eleven opportunities to get forward, take our chances, and aim for great results.”

THE GOALS
“We’re already starting to look ahead to the 2026 Tour de France. We can begin to plan and prepare for it with enthusiasm and determination. In the coming days, we’ll start working on this key event to meet the challenge one of the season’s highlights. I know we have what it takes to shine and aim for the summits!”

THE WOMEN’S TOUR DE FRANCE WITH ZWIFT
“It’s a stunning route with two iconic stages — at Lausanne and the finish in Nice. In between, there are very tough challenges awaiting the riders. It promises to be a spectacular Tour de France. I know there will be opportunities for us there as well, and we’ll have our cards to play.”

HIS FIRST TWO TOURS AS GM
“These first two Tours de France as general manager fill me with great enthusiasm. Both Grande Boucles will pass through my home region (the Doubs), which makes it even more exciting. There’s a huge amount of motivation and determination. I will be fully committed, alongside the staff and riders, to demonstrate the true value of Team Cofidis.”

MÉLANIE BRIOT’S INSIGHT

“The Tour de France Femmes with Zwift offers a very exciting route. It seems to get hillier each year. The opening stages will favor puncheurs and sprinters before the time trial, which will serve as a transition. In the Beaujolais, we could see breakaways succeed. After that, it will be time for the climbers to shine with Mont Ventoux and the Col d’Èze. I think this route could suit our riders, particularly Julie Bego and Mijntje Geurts, who have puncheur/climber profiles. Our goal will be to do everything possible to aim for a stage win and, why not, compete for the best young rider jersey. One thing is certain: we will return to the Tour de France with plenty of ambitions!”
