The Belgian and the Frenchman, both aged 26, have signed up for the next two seasons in the red and white jersey. Sylvain is particularly at ease in the mountains and in one-day races. Valentin, an adventurer, knows how to seize opportunities, having already won the Critérium du Dauphiné. Both will be determined to make Cofidis shine next year!

A continuous rise

A native of Namur, Sylvain Moniquet has risen through the ranks steadily, making a name for himself at the Tour de l'Avenir (2019). He turned professional the following year, riding for the Groupama-FDJ continental team before spending four years with Lotto Dstny. A member of the breakaway at the Flèche Wallonne (2021), 4th in the prestigious Etna stage at the Giro (2022), he also distinguished himself this year at the Mercan'Tour Classic Alpes Maritimes (10th) and at the Tour of Switzerland (8th in stage 4). A keen mountain biker, he is also at ease in one-day races. From now on, Sylvain hopes to continue to progress and do his new colours proud.

Cédric Vasseur: "Sylvain Moniquet is a rider we've been following for some time. He has enormous potential and is now in his prime. He's made steady progress since turning professional and we want to give him the chance to take his career to the next level. He'll be a key member of the team in the Ardennes classics and in all the races where he'll have to compete with the punishing climbers. We also want to give him the chance to go for some great victories.

the new challenge

Valentin has experienced the thrill of victory on three occasions. He has won the Tour of Rwanda (stage 4, 2021), the prestigious Critérium du Dauphiné (stage 6, 2022) and Paris-Camembert. An adventurous and daring backpacker, Valentin knows how to create opportunities to surprise and win.

Born in the Vienne region of France and currently based in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the current TotalEnergie rider describes himself as an "all-round rider", who likes to slip into breakaways.  Valentin has taken part in six classics and two Grand Tours (Vuelta 2020, Tour de France 2023). With Cofidis, he hopes to discover new races and do everything he can to get back to winning ways!

Cédric Vasseur: "I'm delighted to welcome Valentin to the Cofidis team. Valentin's profile is perfectly suited to the team's programme and way of racing. He's also coming into his best years and embarking on a new project will boost his career. We want him to discover new races and continue his progression at the highest level.
