The 32-year-old Belgian rider has signed up for the next two seasons with the Cofidis team. Already a winner of the Tour de France (two victories) and the Flèche Wallonne, Dylan will bring his experience and knowledge of winning to the northern French team in the most prestigious races on the calendar. He will be the team's new trump card at the Flandriennes and Ardennaises.
This is a rider who knows the taste of victory. Dylan Teuns has raised his arms 14 times in his career. His prestigious victories include the Flèche Wallonne (2022) and two stages on the roads of the Tour de France (2019, 2021). On the Grande Boucle, there was success at La Planche-des-Belles-Filles and then at Le Grand-Bornand. In this 2nd victory, Dylan won a superbly controlled stage ahead of... Ion Izagirre.
From now on, both riders will wear the same Cofidis jersey. Dylan has solid experience, having taken part in 8 Grand Tours and 22 classics. He will bring to the team his knowledge of racing, his ability to be opportunistic and daring in stage races, but above all in one-day races.
Dylan will also be the team leader during the Flandriennes and Ardennaises, and is dreaming of another podium finish in these prestigious races. Last but not least, the Flemish rider will reinforce the team's already strong Belgian contingent.
They said
Dylan Teuns: "Cédric Vasseur was one of the first managers to take an interest in me this year, contacting me very early on in the season. His project interested me and the great history of Cofidis was also a source of motivation. Franck Vandenbroucke is the last person to have won a monument with Cofidis (Liège-Bastogne-Liège, 1999) and I want to do everything I can so that we can aim for a podium in this type of race. I know we'll be able to field a very strong team to achieve that goal. I've always given my all. I know the pleasure you get when you're in the lead, when you're well placed in the finish. These are sensations I'm looking forward to rediscovering with Cofidis!"
Cédric Vasseur, general manager: "Dylan Teuns' arrival in the Cofidis team marks a new departure for our structure, with new ambitions in classic-type races. Dylan is one of the best riders in the world, he has solid experience and his track record shows the full extent of his potential. Dylan can win on any terrain, and the classics will be one of his major objectives for the 2025 season. Our team lacked a leader for the Flandriennes and Ardennaises, and now we'll be able to tackle these races with a rider capable of going for the win."
