It's one of the highlights of your career. Becoming a trainee with a UCI World Tour team is an opportunity to discover the world's top level, benefit from expertise and a cutting-edge structure, and progress with serenity. Britain's Oliver Knight (22), Denmark's Joshua Gudnitz (21) and France's Ilan Larmet (22) are about to take the plunge with Cofidis. They share their enthusiasm and desire.
Joshua Gudnitz (DEN), age 21
"Being able to start at Cofids is a great opportunity. It's a great team in the world cycling landscape, a reference for everyone who loves cycling. I feel privileged to wear these colors. I describe myself as a puncheur: I enjoy long breakaways, sprints and time trials. My role will be to do everything I can to help my team-mates, to fit in with the team and contribute to the team's success."
Oliver Knight (GBR), 22 years old
"Wearing the Cofidis colors is the culmination of twelve years' work. When I came home as a kid, we loved watching the Tour de France, and Cofidis has always been part of it. I love unbridled racing and I dream of one day being able to compete in the Monuments and the classics. I'm keen to learn as much as I can from my new team-mates, and to hone my skills as a rider. As a member of the Aix-en-Provence club, I know Harisson (Wood) well and, like him, I hope to discover some prestigious races in the red and white jersey."
Ilan Larmet (FRA), 22 years old
"Joining the Cofidis team is a great opportunity to discover the professional world. I'm happy to have a foot in the world's top level. Cofidis is one of the best teams in France, and you only have to look at the current dynamics of the Tour de France to be convinced. What Victor Lafay and Bryan Coquard are achieving is bound to make you want more. I'm an all-round rider, and I like tough, hard-wearing races. I can't wait to race in my new jersey!
