Just before the start of the Tour de France, where he hopes to shine, the Cofidis team is proud to announce the extension of Bryan Coquard's contract for the next two seasons. Since joining the team in 2022, the sprinter has demonstrated his talent, winning his first UCI World Tour race at the start of the season.

Give it your all in the last few meters, squeeze through, find your place, make the difference and raise your arms. Bryan Coquard has experienced the joys of victory 51 times in his career. And in this collection of successes, there are the last three this season: two at the Région Pays de la Loire Tour and one at the start of the season on the Tour Down Under. This first victory in 2023 will go down in history as the first time Bryan has won a UCI World Tour race.

Between explosiveness and wisdom

The 'Rooster' thus demonstrates that he still has the explosiveness and guile to try his luck in massive sprints. And he intends to try his luck every time the opportunity arises on the roads of the Tour de France, throughout the month of July. At 31 years of age, Bryan has the wisdom of an experienced rider, and knows how to handle the toughest efforts.

A year after being forced to pull out of the Tour de France before the start because of Covid-19, he's eager to prove that he can be one of the sprinters to watch at the world's most prestigious race. Bryan will be going there with confidence, and for good reason: he knows he'll be continuing with the Cofidis team for the next two seasons. So he'll continue to aim for victories, and to enjoy himself as much as possible, to make his colors shine.

 THEY SAID

Bryan Coquard: "I feel really good at Cofidis. Two years ago, it was a gamble and a choice too, because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I've managed to find a good balance in this team and I'm lucky enough to have the trust of my team-mates and staff. All the victories will be remembered as great moments, as will the distinctive jerseys we had to defend, even in a team role. I didn't want to go anywhere else, I was confident that we'd be able to extend our adventure. This year, I won my first World Tour race and I think I can go even higher and further. I know we still have some great stories to write together."

Cédric Vasseur, sports manager: "This is the first good news of the Tour de France! We're delighted to be continuing our collaboration with Bryan. From the moment he joined the Cofidis team, Bryan has found his way to victory and gained the trust of the whole team. He reached another milestone this season with his first victory at the highest level in the Tour Down Under. He is also one of the few riders to have won more than 50 races. His human qualities, his dedication to the team and his experience make him a valuable addition to the Cofidis team. We now want to support him in his quest for Tour de France victories. He's worked hard to achieve this goal, and we know he's up to the challenge."
