GIRO - STAGE 18 THE GOOD MOVE OF ROSSETTO

GIRO - STAGE 18 THE GOOD MOVE OF ROSSETTO

It is a myth on the cycling planet: the Stelvio and its 2,758 meters of altitude. The good weather conditions allowed the peloton to climb it on this Giro. This was done during 203 km that ended at the top of Laghi di Cancano.

From the very first kilometers, around 20 riders manage to break away from the peloton, among them Stéphane Rossetto. The Frenchman was 4th on the first climb of the day, the Campo Carlo Magnon, then 3rd at Passo Castrin. Rossetto was then caught up again on the climb of the Stelvio.

Tomorrow, the road will finally be flat on the Giro. If the stage between Morbegno and Asti promises to be long (258 km), it should end in a sprint. A nice opportunity for the Cofidis team to allow Elia Viviani and Simone Consonni to try and bring the victory.
